IPAA Learning & Development Workshops
Program Guide July - November 2008

In February 2006, the IPAA Learning & Development Program was launched, consisting of a series of short, skills-based workshops focusing either on core public sector topics, or topics centred around career or personal development.

The program is leaping ahead, with some 600 attendees in its first twelve months, reflecting the increasing importance placed on training staff and team building in a climate where succession planning is becoming increasingly important and the job market is strong.

Each program is designed for public sector professionals and the unique environment within which they operate. Some courses are specifically targeted at a particular audience group, whether determined by seniority or job type.

Topics range from those that encompass specific skills required in the public sector, such as Writing Ministerials, to personal and career development subjects.

With a few notable exceptions, each workshop is open only to 24 participants in order to maximise learning opportunities.

Full day courses run from 9.00 am to 4.30 pm, with registering of participants at 8.30 am. Half day courses run from 9.00 am to 12.30 pm. Venues vary.

IPAA can also tailor workshops to suit your specific needs. These ‘in-house’ courses can be delivered in your own venue, with material and workbooks customised to your audience.
