Professional Development
Our courses are interactive incorporating a combination of theory, practice (real case studies) and review. Our facilitators engage in a process of inquiry, analysis, and decision-making with adult learners, rather than just transmitting knowledge.
We also understand adults are competency-based learners and therefore we work hard to develop programs that improve performance and support behavioural change and are relevant to organisational and employee needs.
IPAA courses are grouped into three levels depending on their content:
Level 1: These are our most generalist courses. They offer a foundation level of understanding and are suitable for a broad range of participants. Without limiting participation, IPAA suggests these courses are suitable for ASO3 or equivalent through to ASO7 or equivalent participants.
Level 2: These course are more targeted then our Level 1 options. They provide foundational knowledge within a leadership context. They are suitable for those who have been identified or self-identify as emerging leaders. Outcomes of these courses begin to map into the SAES competencies. IPAA suggests these courses are suitable for ASO4 or equivalent and above.
Level 3: These are our most specialised courses. They offer participants opportunities to further map their skills and knowledge to SAES competencies and are ideal for those new to executive leadership roles. IPAA suggests these courses are suitable for ASO7 or equivalent and above.

Mentoring
Mentoring is one of IPAA’s most successful methods of knowledge sharing and career coaching. Past participants have commented that this program provides the type of support that many departments are not able to offer. This is a mentee driven program, where mentees are responsible for developing and articulating their goals.
