IPAA’s On the Couch series explores the lives and ideas of some of South Australia’s most notable public sector leaders, visionaries and social campaigners.

Our guest on this occasion is Brett Rowse, Under Treasurer, Department of Treasury and Finance, whose experience in Commonwealth and State Government public sectors (South Australia and interstate) in matters of economic development and finance spans over 30 years.

Join us for a casual chat facilitated by Stephen Halliday (Director, Hawker Britton and former Chief of Staff to Mike Rann) where Mr Rowse will share ideas for personal motivation and stories of his professional experiences while working within the public sector.

With over 13 years of experience working for government in South Australia, New South Wales and the United Kingdom, our “Hour in the Room” guest, Emma Lawson, has a wide spectrum of government involvement in the parliamentary, political, policy, and community engagement fields.

Having worked as a policy advisor to Premier Rann, as well as having led parliamentary inquiries and the development of policy in a diverse range of areas including health, workers compensation, economic development, education, skills and housing, Emma is now responsible for heading up the community engagement process in South Australia’s Strategic Plan. This process has recently been recognised by IAP2 International with their prestigious award for the best practice community engagement project; a project which has also received a commendation from the Future Gov 2.0 awards for leading use of social media by government in Asia Pacific.

Join us for another edition of this very popular series, as we spend an “Hour in the Room” Emma, who will focus on:
